General information
What are probiotics?
Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when given in sufficient quantities, can give you health benefits. The word "probiotic" is often mistakenly used to refer to a live culture as used in traditional fermented foods. But a recognized international group of scientists (ISAPP*) has determined that the term should be limited to microorganisms that have been properly defined and shown to provide health benefits. (1)

What are prebiotics?
The scientific definition of a prebiotic is "a substrate selectively used by host microorganisms that provide health benefits" (ISAPP*). It thus serves as food for the microbes, thereby of course also as food for externally supplied bacterial cultures, as used either in probiotics or also synbiotics. Prebiotics are often indigestible food components of natural (plant-based foods) or synthetic origin that serve as functional food components for the microbial colonization present in the gut. (2)

What are human milk oligosaccharides (HMO)?
Human milk oligosaccharides are already present in human breast milk and serve as the first prebiotics. In infancy, they have an immunostimulating effect. HMOs are functional sugars and have been used as dietary supplements for some time. They are used in baby foods for health benefits such as a prebiotic effect and promotion of the development of a healthy gut microbiome. Less well known are proven positive health effects when used in adult diets. Here, other health-promoting effects are observed, such as gut health, cognitive function, irritable bowel syndrome, and immune system. (3), (4)

What is a synbiotic?
A synbiotic is a combination of probiotics and prebiotics. It combines one or more live microorganisms and one or more substances that can be used by either the live microbes administered with it or the beneficial microbes that inhabit your body. Scientifically, synbiotics are "a mixture of live microorganisms and substrates that are selectively used by host microorganisms and confer health benefits to the host." A combination of probiotics and prebiotics allows for even greater health benefits. (5)

What is the effect of AASAYA immun?
Recent research confirms a central role of the microbiome, which is strongly influenced by several environmental and nutritional factors. The formulation of AASAYA immun is based on a comprehensive combination of various, functional nutritional ingredients. The ingredients contained in the product - in this case, especially the bacterial cultures and dietary fibres - are highly dosed and, in combination with the added vitamins, also have an impact on the microbiome.
It is now known that the human intestine contains the majority (up to 80%) of our immune system. The individual and specific colonization of this microorganism environment (microbiome) influences essential metabolic and immune processes in your body. By taking complexly composed food supplements, it is possible to influence the composition of the microbiome when taken over a longer period of time. It is important to also consider the other lifestyle factors for a healthy lifestyle.
What is the best way to store AASAYA immun?
Ideally, store AASAYA immun in a dry and cool place (below 25 °C).
Is AASAYA immun also available in the form of capsules or tablets?
AASAYA immun is only available in powder form. One daily serving (6.5 g) already contains 4.3 g of dietary fibres, including human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The corresponding dosage in the form of capsules or tablets would only be associated with an unfavourably higher daily intake of these dosage forms.
What makes AASAYA immun so special?
Compared to common dietary supplements, AASAYA immun contains a high proportion of dietary fiber, high-dose bacterial strains and 12 vitamins per daily serving. Dietary fiber serves as food for the health-promoting bacteria in your body. The amount of fiber contained in AASAYA immun covers a large portion (about 86%) of the ISAPP* recommended dose of 5 g per day.
AASAYA immun is one of the few supplements to contain human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs).
* ISAPP: International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics.
Ingredients
Is AASAYA immun lactose-free?
A daily portion of AASAYA immun contains very small amounts of lactose. For comparison: With 200 ml of cow's milk you consume approx. 10 g of lactose - a daily portion of AASAYA immune contains only a fraction of this (approx. 0.03 g lactose per 6.5 g daily portion).
Is AASAYA immune gluten-free?
AASAYA immun is free from gluten.
Is AASAYA immun also suitable for vegetarians?
AASAYA immun is suitable for a vegetarian diet. It contains no animal protein, only the smallest amounts of milk sugar (lactose).
What does AASAYA immun taste like?
The effectiveness of AASAYA immun is our top priority. Therefore, we deliberately avoid artificial flavors and sweeteners. When dissolved in water, AASAYA immun has a slight taste of its own.
Where does the yellowish color of the powder come from? Does AASAYA immun contain colouring agents?
The yellow coloration comes from the addition of vitamin B2 (riboflavin). AASAYA immun does not contain any other colorants, artificial flavors or sweeteners.
Does AASAYA immun support me in meeting the daily requirement of dietary fiber?
According to the recommendation of the German Nutrition Society (DGE), the guideline for a daily intake of dietary fiber is at least 30 g per day. The easiest way to cover the daily fiber requirement is by eating vegetables and fruit or whole grain products. Prebiotic fibers such as inulin or fructo-oligosaccharides are found in grains, fruits and vegetables such as barley, wheat, flaxseed, psyllium, chicory, onion or bananas. In everyday life, however, we do not consume these foods regularly. AASAYA immun supports you daily with the fiber intake.
Intake
How is AASAYA immun applied?
Daily stir one level measuring spoon (or the contents of one sachet) into approx. 200 ml (= 1 glass) of still water, wait at least 1 minute activation time, stir and drink. We recommend taking on an empty stomach. Do not eat anything for half an hour after ingestion to allow optimal action of the bacterial cultures. Water, due to its pH, is optimal for activating the freeze-dried bacteria. In general, the liquid in which you dissolve AASAYA immun should not be hotter than 40 °C or have a very acidic pH (e.g. coffee, soft drinks, fruit juices) and should also not contain carbonic acid. Ideally, you should take AASAYA immun in the morning. AASAYA immun can be taken daily.
How long should I take AASAYA immun?
After 7-10 days, most people can expect the first positive effects. For a longer and sustainable effect on health, we recommend a regular intake, which usually extends over 1 to 3 months. A continuation beyond that is possible and also reasonable.
General notes
What is there to consider?
Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The recommended daily intake specified should not be exceeded.
In cases of pancreatic disorders and/or small intestine bacterial overgrowth, consumption is not recommended.
If you have pre-existing conditions, please consult your doctor.
In general, AASAYA immun is well-tolerated. Possible side effects may include: bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea.
If these symptoms occur, it is advisable to initially reduce the dosage and gradually increase it again once the symptoms subside.
Is a healthy diet not enough to meet my micronutrient needs?
In principle, yes. But of course this only applies if you are healthy and have no special support needs. The basis for resilient health is a permanently balanced, varied diet with lots of fresh ingredients.
However, a normal diet can have difficulty meeting the increased needs of sick people, convalescents (convalescents), and people in special situations, such as during pregnancy.
In these situations, the intake of additional micronutrients, based of course on proven study knowledge, can be useful. There are reliable data (nutritional studies of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture) that many people in Germany do not reach the reference values for the recommended nutrient intake through their daily diet. (1)
(1) National Nutrition Survey II, Parts 1 + 2, publication of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
Were animal experiments carried out for the development of AASAYA immun?
No – no animal testing has been performed or commissioned. All ingredients are based on extracts or have been produced by fermentation. Prebiotics (dietary fiber), probiotics (selected strains of bacteria) as well as the vitamins contained in AASAYA immune have all been tested in international scientific studies.
Is AASAYA immun also available for on the go?
If you want to take AASAYA immun on the go (e.g. to work or while traveling), our sachets are suitable. In addition, the packaging serves as protection, because bacterial cultures and micronutrients are sensitive to light, oxygen and heat. Due to the light-protective packaging, the full active content of the ingredients is preserved in AASAYA immun until the best-before date when stored properly.
